The Game & Drake in The Studio

Cool & Dre were busy in the studio with The Game Wednesday, June 23rd recording a hot new track titled “Good Girl, Bad GirL” at Encore Studios in Burbank, California last week. Cool & Dre have 3 songs on the album titled “THE R.E.D. album.” The single will feature a verse by hip-hop recording star Drake. Queen Latifah stopped by to hang with the superstars while they were recorded. (Press Release)
Writing via Twitter last Friday (June 25), Game revealed that their Cool & Dre-produced track would be the second song on his upcoming album.

“In the studio wit the lil homie @drakkardnoir & @coolanddre n all I can say is R.E.D. album…….. Track #2,” he wrote. (Game’s Twitter)
Despite initial plans to drop R.E.D. on August 24th, a lawsuit against Interscope Records is trying to keep the project off shelves.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the suit, which was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges that Universal Music Group broke a previous agreement with Desperado Entertainment and has been collecting publishing and royalties from the West Coast rapper’s sales, when they were only entitled to advances from record sales. The company claims that it had a large hand in turning the Compton-native into the platinum selling artist that he is today, and wants to be properly compensated. Desperado Entertainment states that it is owed royalties from the sales of previous Game albums. He has sold over five million records in his career. In addition, the law suit seeks to prevent the release of Game’s upcoming The R.E.D. Album. (XXL Mag)
Last April, Game revealed that Drake’s labelmate Nicki Minaj could not make the album.

“No [she’s not on the album]. She was supposed to be and then we didn’t make it happen fast enough and then the song got leaked though and it was a wrap. She’s the most potent, new female hip-hop artist and we got one on this [West] side called Canary, she’s dope and on the mixtape so be on the look-out for her…[Ashanti] can sing her a** off. Anything she sings sounds like radio material, so that’s crazy.”
